Prude & Boujee is a Latina-owned skincare retailer and importer founded by Reno-grown Vania Carter-Strauss, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, a practicing nurse practitioner with a deep passion for skin health. Grounded in clinical knowledge and informed by years of hands-on patient care, Vania curates Korean skincare with intention—prioritizing ingredients, barrier health, and evidence-informed practices over hype or trends.
What began as a love for K-beauty has evolved into something much bigger than a retail shop. Prude & Boujee was created to be a space where skincare, education, and community intersect. Every product carried is thoughtfully selected through a health-forward lens, empowering customers to make informed choices about their skin while enjoying the ritual and joy of self-care.
At its core, Prude & Boujee is committed to giving back to the community it serves. The business proudly supports local non-profits, champions family-friendly and female-empowering workforce roles, and actively invests in Midtown Reno’s vitality. This commitment was recognized in 2025 when Prude & Boujee was named Best Places for Women to Work in Northern Nevada by the Nevada Women’s Fund.
Beyond the shop, Vania is a board member of the Midtown Reno Organization, where she advocates for small businesses, inclusive economic growth, and community-centered development. As a proud Latina business owner and healthcare professional, she believes that wellness extends beyond skincare—it lives in access, representation, and collective care.
Prude & Boujee exists to elevate skincare, support women, and build community—beautifully and intentionally.
